Ballet is a graceful and artistic form of dance that tells stories or expresses emotions through a combination of precise and elegant movements. Dancers in ballet perform intricate steps, often on their toes (known as "pointe"), with a focus on balance, flexibility, and strength. It typically involves classical music and has a rich history of traditional positions and techniques. Ballet is known for its elaborate costumes, elaborate stage designs, and its emphasis on conveying feelings and narratives through the beauty of movement. It's a highly disciplined and demanding art form that requires years of training and practice.
In the Ballet Babes class, kids will learn ballet by doing fun dances and using stuff like ribbons and scarves. They'll also get to be creative and try out different moves. It's like a game where they use their imagination to act out stories with music. This helps make your child more creative.
The students will keep learning harder ballet moves to improve how they stand, balance, stretch their legs and feet, and land gracefully as they progress. They'll also start using a technique called turnout from Grade 1 and beyond. Just remember, to start Grade 1 ballet, your child must first complete their primary exam.
Our Ballet programme follows the CSDT (Commonwealth society of Teachers of Dancing) syllabus.
